Dapo holds awareness program on PM Vishwakarma Scheme

ITANAGAR, Feb 4: A one day awareness programme on ‘PM Vishwakarma Scheme’, organized by the Office of the Branch MSME, Itanagar, Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (Govt of India) in collaboration with the Department of Industries (GoAP), and Niumhi Foundation, was held at the District Industries Centre (DIC) Hall, Daporijo in Upper Subansiri district.

The programme witnessed participation of more than 100 artisans, craftsmen, and beneficiaries from across the district.

The programme was hosted by Hinium Takung of Niumhi Foundation, who played a key role in coordinating and facilitating the event.

John Rai, I/C DDI, EI, encouraged artisans to take full advantage of government schemes to strengthen their livelihoods and enterprises.

Pura Pyaro, Assistant Director, Branch MSME, delivered a comprehensive presentation on PM Vishwakarma Scheme, elaborating on its major components such as skill training, toolkit assistance, credit linkage, and incentives for digital transactions. He urged artisans to register under the scheme and utilise institutional support for business growth.

Addressing the participants on Entrepreneurship Development, Rohit Sahu, Team Lead, SLPMU, spoke on business planning, marketing strategies, branding, packaging, and market linkages. He also guided artisans on banking support and formalisation of enterprises.

A focused session on packaging was conducted to sensitize artisans on improving product quality, presentation, and market competitiveness.

Durga Boro, Lead District Manager (LDM), along with Pankaj Rai, LDM Coordinator, briefed the participants on loan compliances, documentation requirements, and the importance of credit discipline for smooth access to institutional finance.

Earlier, EO Tato Payeng highlighted the significance of PM Vishwakarma Scheme in empowering traditional artisans through skill upgradation, toolkit support, and access to institutional finance. (DIPR)
