AARTIAA alleges illegal appointment of retired doctors

Staff REPORTER

ITANAGAR, Feb 4: The All Arunachal RTI Activists Association (AARTIAA) has alleged illegal appointment of three retired doctors under various positions in the State Health department.

Elaborating on their claim, AARTIAA president Tania June said that the three doctors—Dr Amping Perme Ete appointed as Quality and Family Planning Advisor; Dr Runi Tasung, Advisor (RMNCHA) under the National Health Mission (NHM); and Dr Dubom Bagra, Programme Manager for NQAS—were appointed by the concerned department without any advertisement for the posts.

June further claimed that all three appointees are retired medical professionals, which, he said, violates the government guidelines issued on August 8, 2015, stating that no request for extension of service beyond the retirement age should be entertained.

He informed that the alleged illegal appointments came to light through documents obtained under the RTI Act. According to him, the required documents were provided by the authorities following court intervention in November 2025.

AARTIAA has demanded immediate termination of the three doctors within seven days and warned to launch democratic protest in the ICR if the government or the concerned department fails to act within the stipulated time.

The association chief informed that earlier complaint letters, along with a 15-day ultimatum, were submitted to the Chief Minister’s Office, the Chief Secretary, and the Commissioner (Health), but no action has been taken so far.

He added that several attempts to meet the Mission Director of the National Health Mission, Department of Health & Family Welfare, Naharlagun, to discuss the issue have been unsuccessful.
