KHONSA, Feb 4: The Fire Brigade (FB), teaming up with the Khonsa Battalion of the Assam Rifles (AR), displayed exceptional promptness and operational readiness in combating a jungle fire that broke out near the SP Bungalow area in Khonsa at around 2:15 pm today.
However, no casualties were reported, and no residential houses were affected, ensuring the safety of the local population.
Owing to the swift, decisive, and professional response of the Fire Brigade and Assam Rifles personnel, the fire was successfully brought under control within a short span of time.
Earlier, acting as first responders, the Fire Brigade personnel joining hands with the troops of the Khonsa Battalion immediately mobilized rescue and fire-containment measures upon receiving the information. Demonstrating courage, discipline, and effective coordination with the local administration and emergency services, the teams worked tirelessly to prevent the fire from spreading further to nearby habitations and vulnerable areas.
