Healing borders, touching lives: Army conducts medical camps in W/Kameng

Itanagar, Feb 5: In a continued effort to strengthen civil-military cooperation and provide essential healthcare services to remote border communities, the Indian Army’s Kameng Healers of the Ball of Fire Division under Gajraj Corps conducted medical camps at Singchung in West Kameng district and Holy Gorsam Chorten, Zemithang, under Operation Sadbhavana.

Specialist medical teams comprising ENT, Ophthalmology and Dental experts examined and treated over 150 local residents, addressing critical healthcare needs in these far-flung areas where access to specialised medical facilities remains limited.

The camps offered comprehensive medical consultations, treatment, and health guidance, significantly benefiting the local population. The initiative was warmly received by villagers, who expressed appreciation for the Army’s outreach in improving healthcare accessibility in the border region.

This humanitarian endeavour reaffirms the Indian Army’s unwavering commitment to community welfare, healthcare outreach and people-centric nation building, particularly in remote and strategically sensitive border areas. Through such initiatives, the Army continues to foster trust, goodwill and enduring bonds with local communities while contributing to their overall well-being and quality of life. (PRO Defence)
