Itanagar, Feb 6: Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt Gen (Retd) KT Parnaik on Friday urged parents to be empathetic and supportive towards children, advising them to avoid undue pressure and unhealthy comparisons during examinations.
The Governor made these remarks after witnessing the 9th edition of Pariksha Pe Charcha 2026 from Lok Bhavan, Itanagar. Expressing gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he said the programme conveyed the important message that examinations are a natural part of the learning process and should not be a cause of fear or stress.
He said the interaction encouraged students to focus on conceptual understanding instead of rote learning, manage time effectively, and maintain physical and mental well-being through discipline, fitness and mindfulness.
Parnaik also called upon teachers to act as mentors who inspire curiosity, creativity and confidence among students. He said the programme reflected the spirit of the National Education Policy 2020 by promoting holistic, joyful and stress-free education.
The Governor said he was pleased that the Prime Minister interacted with children from the North Eastern region during the programme.
