Daporijo, Feb 11: Chief Minister Pema Khandu visited Taksing Circle, the last administrative centre of Upper Subansiri district, during a two-day tour aimed at boosting development in the remote border region.

During his visit, the Chief Minister inaugurated several projects implemented under both State and Centrally Sponsored Schemes. He also laid foundation stones for more than 20 new projects under various schemes, including the Vibrant Village Programme (VVP), marking a significant push towards infrastructure and socio-economic development in the frontier area.

Khandu further inaugurated the sacred Tsari Taksing Gajang Shedup Dargeyling Monastery at Taksing, describing it as an important spiritual and cultural landmark for the region.

He stated that Taksing Circle holds immense potential as a future tourist destination following improved road connectivity and assured that he would take up the matter with the Central Government for the creation of a dedicated tourist circuit to Taksing.
