DC chaired meet assesses progress of NHM programs and immunization activities in Leparada district

BASAR, Feb 12: The monthly review meeting of the National Health Mission (NHM) and the District Task Force for Immunization (DTFI) was held at the DC’s conference hall here today.

Chaired by Leparada Deputy Commissioner-cum-Chairperson DTFI Himani Meena, the meeting assessed the progress of NHM programmes and immunization activities in the district.

District Programme Manager (NHM), Kenli Doji briefed the chair on the action taken regarding decisions of the previous meeting. Through a detailed PPT presentation, he highlighted the status of key health indicators and programmes, including maternal health and family planning, child healthcare services, routine immunization coverage, and compliance with District Quality Assurance norms.

In her address, the DC underscored the need for enhanced community participation, particularly the involvement of male members and PRI representatives during Village Health, Sanitation and Nutrition Days (VHSNDs), to strengthen awareness and outreach efforts. She emphasized achieving full immunization coverage through intensified door-to-door mobilization by frontline health workers.

Stressing the importance of both pre-natal immunization and post-natal care, the DC called for coordinated efforts from all stakeholders to ensure comprehensive healthcare delivery.

The DC also directed the District Medical Officer, Leparada to initiate measures for recognizing well-performing ASHAs and healthcare personnel at the district level, stating that such recognition would motivate grassroots workers and acknowledge their contributions. She also stated that she will be visiting healthcare centres across the district to interact with health personnel and obtain first-hand information on the services being delivered.

During the meeting, it was informed that three healthcare centres in the district-Pagi, Dorputu and Padi—have been certified under the State Quality Assurance Programme.

DMO Dr Karmar Dirchi informed the house that the Health and Wellness Centre (AYUSH), Sago has been recently accredited by NABH for quality services. The accreditation certificate was formally handed over by the DC to Dr Dukter Ete, medical officer (AYUSH) during the meeting.

Concluding the session, the DC called upon all concerned departments and frontline workers to continue working in close coordination with renewed commitment to ensure effective implementation of NHM initiatives and improved health outcomes across the district. (DIPRO)
