Itanagar, Feb 21: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Arunachal Pradesh unit, on Friday strongly condemned what it described as a deliberate attempt by the Indian National Congress to embarrass the nation during the Global AI Summit held at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi.
Addressing a press conference, BJP’s state media in-charge Dolang Tako, along with BJYM state president Tame Siyang Tarh, expressed concern over the reported incident, terming it a “pre-planned and anti-national conspiracy” aimed at tarnishing India’s global image during a prestigious international event focused on artificial intelligence and technological innovation.
The party alleged that certain individuals were mobilised and registered for the summit with the intent to disrupt the proceedings and create an embarrassing situation before international delegates. BJP leaders claimed that the act was not spontaneous but a calculated move designed to derail the programme and undermine the country’s image on a global platform.
Tame Siyang Tarh appealed to all sections of society, particularly the younger generation, to speak out against what he described as irresponsible and disruptive politics. He stated that while political differences are natural in a democracy, attempting to embarrass the nation at an international forum is unacceptable.
The BJP strongly criticised senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, alleging that such actions reflected a decline in political standards and an inability to offer constructive opposition. The party further claimed that the incident exposed what it termed “ideological bankruptcy” within the Congress and accused it of pursuing negative and disruptive politics instead of contributing meaningfully to national development.
Highlighting India’s growing stature in the field of technology and innovation under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the BJP leaders asserted that international platforms increasingly recognise India’s rapid progress. They alleged that attempts to disrupt such events indirectly harm the nation’s credibility and image.
The BJP also claimed that four Congress functionaries were reportedly detained in connection with the incident, including Krishna Hari (national secretary, Youth Congress), Kundan Yadav (secretary, Bihar Youth Congress), Ajay Kumar (vice president, UP Youth Congress) and Narasimha Yadav (national coordinator, Youth Congress).
Condemning the alleged disruption, the BJP Arunachal Pradesh demanded accountability and urged citizens to reject divisive politics. The party called upon the public to remain united in safeguarding the dignity, unity and progress of the nation.
Meanwhile, the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), Arunachal Pradesh unit, on Saturday organized a protest rally condemning the alleged disruption caused by Rahul Gandhi and the Indian National Congress during the Global AI Summit in New Delhi on Friday. The rally witnessed enthusiastic participation from BJP karyakartas, IMC corporators, Morcha executive members, and party supporters.
Addressing the gathering, the BJYM state president strongly criticized the incident, stating that such actions undermine India’s image on the international stage. He asserted that the youth of Arunachal Pradesh stand firmly for constructive politics, technological advancement, and respect for national and global platforms.
Senior BJP leader Nalong Mize emphasized the need to maintain decorum during events of international significance. He called upon political leaders across parties to act responsibly in the larger interest of the nation.
The BJYM reiterated its commitment to safeguarding national pride, promoting positive political discourse, and supporting initiatives aimed at strengthening India’s leadership in emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence.
