ITANAGAR, Feb 24: The XVI Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) meeting of Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Papum Pare was held today at the conference hall of the Kendra under the chairmanship of Dr Danjan Longri, Director Animal Husbandry Veterinary & Dairy Development, Nirjuli, in presence of Veterinary Dy Director cum KVK nodal officer Dr B Biswakarma and the committee members from the District Office of Agriculture, Horticulture, Veterinary and Fisheries along with a farmer representative.
Overall current status report of the Kendra was highlighted by Senior Scientist and Head KVK Dr Bangkeng Perme, followed by a detailed PPT presentation on achievement report of 2025-26 and action plan of 2026-27 of the Kendra in the disciplines of Agronomy, Horticulture, Plant Protection, Fishery and Community Science, which were presented by concerned Subject Matter Specialists of the disciplines.
Further, a presentation on performance of KVK instructional farm in respect to crop production, livestock production, vermicomposting and revenue generation activities was delivered by the Farm Manager.
The meeting concluded with some key recommendations and suggestions on action plan, testing of latest and new technologies in KVK farm before transferring to farmers’ field, prioritizing technically feasible and economically viable technologies, establishment of a dairy unit in KVK farm for milk and manure, etc, by Dr Longri.
