PASIGHAT, Feb 26: The District Institute of Education & Training (DIET), Pasighat celebrated its Silver Jubilee cum DIET Week Celebration 2026 with great enthusiasm, marking its dedicated service in the field of teacher education. The weeklong celebration themed ‘25 Years of Learning, Leading & Inspiring’ commenced on February 22.
The main function held today was graced by Tagom Padung, Chief Councillor Pasighat Municipal Council (PMC); Obhuk Tabing, DDSE East Siang, along with Deputy Chief Councillor Kamin Lego and Ward No 5 Councillor Rahul Tamuk.
In his address, Tapang Taki, Principal DIET Pasighat, briefly highlighted the history, achievements and contributions of the institute over the past 25 years. He emphasized DIET’s role in strengthening elementary education, building teachers’ capacity, and providing continuous academic and professional support to schools in the district.
Speaking on the occasion, the DDSE shared his association with DIET Pasighat and mentioned that he had earlier served as Principal of the institute. He reflected on the years he served in the institution and acknowledged the support of colleagues and staff members with whom he worked during his tenure. He also appreciated the growth and development achieved by DIET over the years.
Speaking as chief guest on the occasion, Tagom Padung congratulated the faculty members, trainees and alumni on completing 25 successful years and appreciated the institute’s continuous contribution to the education sector.
Cultural performances, including group dance presentations and a theme song rendered by PSTE trainees added on to the occasion. Alumni members were also present and shared their experiences, expressing gratitude towards the institution for shaping their professional journey.
The unveiling of the Silver Jubilee Plaque (2000–2025) marked a historic milestone in the institute’s journey.
