Nyokum Yullo at Doimukh celebrated in its purest traditional form: Khandu

Itanagar, Feb 26: Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Thursday participated in the Nyokum Yullo celebration at Doimukh, stating that the festival holds special significance as it is observed in its purest traditional form, maintaining full ritual sanctity and ancestral reverence.

“Nyokum Yullo at Doimukh is special because it is celebrated in its purest traditional form, with complete ritual sanctity and deep respect for our ancestors. I salute all elders, youth, and organizers who are preserving our sacred traditions with dignity and pride,” he stated in a social media post after gracing the festival.

Highlighting the importance of indigenous festivals, Khandu remarked that there is a profound beauty in the way such celebrations preserve the “soul” of the state. He described Nyokum Yullo as a shining beacon of cultural endurance — a time-honored celebration of life, nature, and shared destiny.

On the sacred occasion, he joined the Nyishi community in collective prayer for the well-being of all and expressed hope that the divine grace of Nyokum Ane would guide the people towards a future marked by mutual respect, harmony, and abundant growth.
