Lingo recognized as new village

AALO, Feb 26: A new village called Lingo, bifurcated from Pokto village under Liromoba circle and located on the Yomcha-Liromoba road, has been officially recognized, with Liromoba MLA Pesi Jilen laying the foundation stone of the new village at Kaba, a sub clan of Bogum clan.

Gracing the occasion as chief guest, the MLA informed the people of Lingo to make proper planning for making it a ‘model’ village and separate land to be identified for development of government infrastructures.

While appealing to the public not to create hindrance for development projects, the MLA told the newly elected PR leaders to be proactive for “common” development of the area. He also assured the gathering of water and electricity connections for the new village. “Every possible help will be provided from his side,” he said.

West Siang Deputy Commissioner Mindo Loyi, who officially handed over the village recognition certificate to Lingo, in his address, urged the villagers to properly plan the new settlement site. He also informed the public of the area to cooperate with the official of population census, which will take place very shortly.

Further, the DC appealed to the public of the area to cooperate with the administration for its overall development.

Ex-minister Lijum Ronya also appealed to the public to be united for overall development of the area, while Marge Sora, State Mission Director, National Health Mission (AP), urged the public to create assets for eco-tourism for the area.

The MLA was accompanied by Kardak Riba (SP West Siang), Gyamar Amte (ADC Yomcha), Eken Bam (CO) and officers of PWD, PHE, and Health department.

The Lingo village declaration cum foundation was celebrated with colorful cultural programmes, amid the presence of Gaon Burahs, PR leaders and the public. (DIPRO)
