WRGC’s NSS Unit holds Dist level Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament

KHONSA, Feb 28: In a significant step in fostering democratic values, leadership qualities, and parliamentary awareness among the youth of the district, the National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit of Wangcha Rajkumar Govt College, Deomali successfully organized a District level Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament 2026 at Adhyaan: The Learning Pavilion in the college campus today.

The programme was held amidst an august gathering of distinguished guests, including Yalik Lowang, ZPM Deomali Block; Dr Watsen Bangsia, Principal Wangcha Rajkumar Govt College; Denhang Bosai, Dy Director IPR (rtd); Lablin Lowang, Secretary Care Me Home Welfare Society; Chayon Bangyang, Associate Professor, Department of Economics; faculty members; and 65 NSS volunteers.

Speaking on the occasion, Bosai highlighted the impact of the Emergency on Indian democracy and encouraged students to cultivate regular reading habits to remain informed and intellectually updated.

Dr Bangsia appreciated the commendable performance of the NSS volunteers, and advised them to continue working with the same zeal and enthusiasm to achieve success in life.

Earlier, in his welcome address, Ngamwang Lowang, Programme Coordinator and Nodal Officer for Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament 2026, briefed the gathering on the aims and objectives of organizing the District level Youth Parliament. He also highlighted the college’s track record of excellence, mentioning that volunteers from the unit have previously represented the institution at the national level.

The jury members—Yalik Lowang, Lablin Lowang, and Chayon Bangyang—also addressed the gathering and appreciated the participants for their insightful deliberations and articulate presentations.

The programme concluded with a prize distribution to the winners, including Ringnya Phuksa, Esha Kumari, Toawang Atoa, P T Ratan Kumar Sharma, and Liamlang Nokbi, the top 5 according to merit. (DIPRO)
