Guv calls for heightened vigilance along LAC during 4 Corps Reunion

Itanagar, Mar 1: Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt General (Retd) KT Parnaik has urged Indian Army officers and troops to remain highly vigilant along the Line of Actual Control (LAC), emphasizing strict adherence to established protocols and standard operating procedures to safeguard national interests.

Addressing the officers and troops, Governor Parnaik, who was on a visit to the 4 Corps Headquarters at Tezpur, Assam, to participate in the reunion of former Corps Commanders of the Gajraj Corps (4 Corps), stressed that constant alertness, discipline, and professional restraint are essential for maintaining stability in sensitive border areas. He advised them to exercise utmost caution while strictly following established protocols, underscoring the importance of preparedness in complex operational environments.

During the visit, he interacted with the Corps Commander, Gambhir Singh, along with all former Corps Commanders of the prestigious formation. Drawing upon their vast operational and command experience, the veteran Corps Commanders held detailed discussions on prevailing security challenges and preparedness along the borders. They shared valuable insights from their years of service, while the present Corps Commander briefed them on the induction of new-generation equipment and the enhanced operational readiness of the Corps.

Recalling his own tenure as the Corps Commander in 2008, Parnaik shared valuable insights and personal experiences, underscoring the importance of sound leadership, situational awareness, and proactive decision-making in complex operational environments. He also offered practical guidance drawn from his years of military service and command responsibility.

Earlier in the day, the Governor laid a wreath at the War Memorial and paid solemn tributes to his former comrades-in-arms, honouring their supreme sacrifice and reaffirming his deep respect for the valour and dedication of the Armed Forces.
