MLA donates school van to MMR GS at Basar

BASAR, Mar 3: In a noble gesture towards strengthening educational infrastructure and facilities, local MLA Nyabi Jini Dirchi today donated a school van to MenjwkMeqkokRwguu (MMR) Gurukul School in Basar.

The vehicle was formally handed over to the school Principal in a brief ceremony held at the DC’s office complex here, in presence of Leparada Deputy Commissioner Himani Meena, ZPC Nyamar Riba, HoDs and members of the MMR School Management Committee, followed by ceremonial flag-off of the newly donated school van by the MLA, DC and the SMC members.

Addressing the gathering, the MLA shared that the decision to donate the vehicle stemmed from an observation she had made during last year’s Independence Day celebration at Todak Basar Memorial Stadium. She noted that while various schools participated in the programme, MMR students were transported in a Tata pick-up truck. Upon enquiry, she learned that the vehicle—earlier donated by Union Minister Kiren Rijiju—was the only means of transportation available to the school. Deeply moved, she resolved to provide a dedicated van to ensure the safety and convenience of the students.

The MLA expressed hope that the new vehicle would greatly benefit the students by facilitating safe travel for academic activities, events, and emergencies. She also reiterated her continued commitment to supporting the overall welfare and development of students in the district in every possible manner. (DIPRO)
