KHONSA, Mar 6: The District level NCORD Committee, headed by Tirap Deputy Commissioner Techu Aran, visited the Wellness Counselling Centre (WCS) at Deomali in Tirap district today.
Accompanied by Superintendent Tax & Excise Monica Lowang and SDPO Randang Khomrang, the DC during the visit interacted with 17 inmates undergoing rehabilitation at the centre. He advised them to complete the full course of treatment and counselling, and encouraged them to change their mindset in order to lead a normal and productive life.
The DC also strongly urged the inmates to stay away from bad company, drug-addicted persons, and other negative influences after their recovery and reintegration into society.
Earlier in the day, the DC along with the SDPO, Assistant Commissioner Indira Thomuong Riba, District Horticulture Officer Tagom Ronya, and CO Soha Toko Kacha, inspected the FCI godown at Deomali. The team reviewed the condition of the building, and also took stock of the storage facilities and overall functioning of the godown.
The visit was part of the district administration’s continued efforts to monitor rehabilitation initiatives and ensure proper maintenance of essential public infrastructure. (DIPRO)
