ITANAGAR, Mar 9: Home Minister Mama Natung urged the student community to conduct the ongoing election process of All Arunachal Pradesh Students’ Union (AAPSU) peacefully and not to resort to violence.

“If the AAPSU Election Committee and student community fails to maintain peace to conduct the elections, the state government will be compelled to cancel Dera Natung Government College as its election center,” warned Natung while talking to reporters on the sidelines of the Assembly session on Monday.

The Home Minister further said the government might also withdraw the security deployment for AAPSU election if need be.

Natung informed that he had a meeting with the caretaker president as well as all the contesting candidates and told them of the government's steps if there is any more violence. He appealed to all students and candidates to maintain peace and refrain from any form of violence during the election process.
