YINGKIONG, Mar 12: Showing overwhelming community support for the Pre-Feasibility Report (PFR) activities of the Siang Upper Multipurpose Project (SUMP) in Upper Siang district, 56 more residents of Komkar village today submitted their consent for conducting the PFR survey to Deputy Commissioner Talo Jerang at his office conference hall here today.
On behalf of 56 pro-PFR residents of Komkar village, Obi Taram and Aton Minno submitted the consent letter to the DC, in presence of fellow members.
It is worthwhile mentioning here that, earlier, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) had been signed by 245 residents of Komkar village on December 30, 2025, at Itanagar in support of the PFR survey. With the latest development, the total number of consenting households has now reached 297 out of 302 households in Komkar village, reflecting overwhelming community support for the initiative.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC appreciated the forward-thinking mindset of the villagers and lauded their collective commitment towards developmental initiatives. He acknowledged the cooperation extended by the residents and expressed hope that such positive participation would contribute towards informed decision-making for the proposed project. (DIPRO)
