PASIGHAT, Mar 17: The Department of Social Work at Arunachal Pradesh University organised a voluntary blood donation camp on the occasion of World Social Work Day 2026, collecting a total of 25 units of blood.
The camp was held in collaboration with the Arunachal Pradesh University Students’ Union (APUSU) and the Blood Centre of Bakin Pertin General Hospital, Pasighat. A total of 90 individuals registered for the camp, out of which 70 turned up for donation, including faculty members, research scholars, students, administrative staff, and participants from outside the university.
Among the notable participants were Col Ashish Raisinghani, Chief Engineer of Project Brahmank under the Border Roads Organisation, along with his team, and Dr Daiarisa Rymbai of the North East Institute of Ayurveda and Folk Medicine Research.
The programme aligned with this year’s World Social Work Day theme, “Co-Building Hope and Harmony: A Harambee Call to Unite a Divided Society,” reflecting a spirit of collective responsibility and humanitarian service.
The medical team was led by Dr Dilem Modi, Blood Bank Officer at BPGH, whose team ensured the smooth conduct of the camp. The department of Social Work expressed gratitude to all collaborators and participants for contributing to the success of the initiative.
