Koloriang, Mar 18: In a significant move to promote administrative awareness and development planning, the District Handbook for Kurung Kumey and the Potential Linked Credit Plan (PLP) for 2026–27 were launched by Deputy Commissioner Cheechung Chukhu at Koloriang on Wednesday.
The District Handbook, prepared in coordination with the DIPRO, provides key information about the district, including administrative centres, tourist destinations, and cultural highlights. It offers a comprehensive overview and is expected to serve as a useful guide for officials, visitors, and tourists.
Highlighting the district’s rich cultural heritage and places of interest, the handbook is aimed at enhancing awareness about Kurung Kumey’s administrative setup, tourism potential, and cultural diversity.
On the occasion, the Potential Linked Credit Plan (PLP) for 2026–27, prepared by NABARD, was also unveiled. The plan estimates a total priority sector credit potential of Rs 20.77 crore for the district.
Out of the total projection, Rs 13.68 crore has been earmarked for the agriculture sector, including farm credit, agricultural infrastructure, and allied activities. The MSME sector is projected to receive Rs 5.83 crore, while Rs 1.27 crore has been allocated to other priority sectors such as education, social infrastructure, and renewable energy.
The PLP is expected to serve as a strategic roadmap to improve credit flow and support sustainable and inclusive development across key sectors in the district. (DIPRO)
