Lohit gets PLP 2026–27 pegged at Rs 8065.30 lakh

TEZU, Mar 20: The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) today launched the Potential Linked Credit Plan (PLP) 2026–27 for Lohit district, pegged at Rs 8065.30, with Deputy Commissioner Kesang Ngurup Damo formally releasing the document, in presence of Kamal Roy, AGM (District Development), NABARD; Ojing Taboh, LDM; and officials from various departments.

Roy informed that the total credit potential under the priority sector for 2026–27 has been estimated at Rs 8065.30 lakh, with agriculture accounting for Rs 4056.60 lakh. He highlighted that the PLP serves as a roadmap for banks to extend credit support to priority sectors and forms the basis for the district’s Annual Credit Plan, which is further consolidated into the State Credit Plan. He emphasized that effective implementation of the PLP will support the district’s development and strengthen coordination among stakeholders.

In his address, the DC stressed the importance of prioritizing agriculture and allied sectors to generate employment and improve livelihoods. He appreciated NABARD’s efforts in preparing the PLP, and urged banks and departments to use it as a guiding document while setting targets for the upcoming financial year.

Meanwhile, a two-day training programme on ‘Self-Sustenance through Improved Governance and Management of Resources’ for the Board of Directors (BODs) of LAMPS (Large Area Multipurpose Societies) was successfully conducted at Tezu on March 19–20.

Sponsored by NABARD, Arunachal Pradesh Regional Office, the programme was organized by the Institute of Cooperative Management (ICM), Guwahati, under the Ministry of Cooperation, Govt of India, in collaboration with the Department of Cooperation, Govt of Arunachal Pradesh.

H K Das, Director ICM Guwahati, served as the lead resource person and delivered sessions on strengthening governance and improving resource management.

Obang Mibang, DRCS Lohit; Kamal Roy, AGM (DD), NABARD; and Ojing Taboh, LDM also addressed the participants.

The training aimed to enhance efficiency, sustainability, and governance of LAMPS. It witnessed active participation from BOD members, reflecting their commitment towards strengthening cooperative institutions and ensuring long-term self-reliance.
