PASIGHAT, Mar 20: Mebo MLA Oken Tayeng inaugurated the 10th Seva Aapke Dwar (SAD) 2.0 programme at the Govt Sec School, Kiyit, organized by the District Administration as part of its rural outreach initiative to deliver doorstep services to rural and remote areas.
The 10th SAD 2.0 camp in East Siang also marks the successful culmination of the 2.O rural outreach initiative in the district.
The MLA personally inspected stalls set up by various departments and took stock of services provided to rural denizens.
Speaking on the occasion, Tayeng highlighted the positive impact of SAD as a step towards proactive governance, adding that SAD camps held in Mebo sub-division has effectively facilitated delivery of various government services to the rural residents, saving their time and energy to travel all the way to headquarters.
He stressed the importance of creating greater awareness about various government schemes, services, and banking facilities through such camps in rural areas, adding that such initiatives will go a long way in generating livelihood opportunities and promoting rural development.
The MLA was accompanied by ZPMs Bapiyang Tayeng and Neena Megu, ADC Mebo Nancy Yirang, CO Toimi Tagi, and SRA (Planning dept), Benjamin Tabing, PRIs, and GBs, among others.
The event witnessed a huge turnout of residents from Kiyit, Ngopok, Borguli, and Seram under the Monggu Banggo ZPM segment. People gathered in significant numbers to avail essential services offered by government departments, financial institutions, and the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), East Siang.
Among the key services provided were farmer registration drives conducted by the Department of Agriculture and allied departments, aimed at helping farmers to access central and state-sponsored schemes.
The DLSA conducted awareness sessions on free legal aid for the poor and the needy under the aegis of the Lead bank Office, Pasighat. Besides generating awareness on Govt sponsored schemes viz PMEGP, DDUSY, PM SVANidhi etc, bank account opening, social security schemes, KYC updation and other banking related enquiries were also taken up.
