BOMDILA, Mar 23: In a significant step forward, the West Kameng District Police busted a year-long diesel theft racket operating across multiple locations in the district, leading to the arrest of two accused.
During an interaction, DySP HQs (Bomdila), Sashi Dore, informed that the case was registered at Singchung police station under C/no 303(2)/3(5) BNS following reports of repeated diesel thefts in the Singchung–Tenga belt.
The accused were apprehended on Sunday from separate locations—one near Nechipu Tunnel (Ziro Point) and the other from Sessa. Both were formally arrested and produced before the Court of CJM, Bomdila on Monday, with a request for police custody to facilitate further investigation.
The operation was carried out by a dedicated team from Singchung PS led by SI Bharat Rai, along with HC R W Karma, HC(T)s M Kadu & A Mikam, CTs P Jomoi, K Opo & J Mossang, and CT (Driver) T D Megeji,.
Further investigation is underway to establish forward and backward linkages, and to ascertain the involvement of other individuals in the racket, revealed police.
