Reforms in recruitment process for LDC & UDC will be addressed by concerned departments: APARC member

AALO, Mar 23: A meeting of the Administrative Reforms Commission was held at the DC’s office conference hall here today, with APARC member Hento Karga in the chair.

West Siang Deputy Commissioner Mindo Loyi, while welcoming the APARC member and other dignitaries present, highlighted the administrative setup and provided valuable insights about the district. He expressed optimism that the outcome of the meeting would be positive and beneficial.

Chairing the meeting, Karga stated that the APARC is working towards developing the Commission into a world-class model. He stated that the Commission is mandated to submit its report to the Govt of Arunachal Pradesh every 10 years. He further mentioned that the State has 45 departments, and the Commission is reviewing the Recruitment Rules (RR) of various departments. Certain posts that are no longer relevant are also under observation for necessary reforms.

He added that reforms in the recruitment process for Lower Division Clerk (LDC) and Upper Division Clerk (UDC) will be addressed by the concerned departments. Emphasis was also laid on the importance of e-governance, stating that all government officers and officials should undergo training in this area. The APARC is also working on streamlining hiring processes in some departments.

Hento Karga directed the District Medical Officer (DMO) and Deputy Director of School Education (DDSE) to submit a list of doctors and teachers currently engaged as programme in-charges or nodal officers within a few days. He reiterated that APARC functions as a high-level committee to recommend measures for enhancing public administration, including improving efficiency, transparency, and citizen-friendly governance.

West Siang ZPC Nyali Bagra appealed to the government to increase the funding pattern for Panchayati Raj Institutions and to enhance financial support for the Horticulture and Agriculture departments to improve the livelihoods of farmers in the district.

During the meeting, ZPMs and HoDs shared their suggestions and highlighted various concerns before the APARC member.

The meeting was also attended by K Pertin, Chief Engineer (PHED), Central Zone, Bene (Aalo); Kardak Riba, Superintendent of Police, West Siang; Mabi Taipodia Jini, ADC (HQs); Tamo Riba, ADC Kamba; and administrative officers. (DIPRO)
