Maiden State Maths Olympiad 2026 wrapped up

ITANAGAR, Mar 24: The Department of Youth Affairs (GoAP) successfully concluded the Maths Olympiad 2026 on Monday at the State Banquet Hall here. This landmark event marks the first-ever State-level Mathematics Olympiad organized by the Department, aimed at fostering analytical thinking and academic rigour among the youth of the State.

The competition commenced with a rigorous preliminary round on Sunday, which saw enthusiastic participation from 80 students representing various educational institutions across Arunachal Pradesh. Following a high-stakes evaluation, the top four participants advanced to the Grand Finale held on MOnday.

The final round witnessed a display of exceptional mathematical prowess, with the following students securing the top honors:

Thupten Eton, currently pursuing his MSc in Mathematics (2nd Semester) at Rajiv Gandhi University (RGU), won the top honour; Gama Dodum Gyamar, a 3rd-year Civil Engineering student (2nd Semester) from NERIST, secured the second prize; while third prize went to Marto Nyodu, a Class 12 student representing Eleazer English School.

The achievers were honoured with cash prizes, trophies, and certificates of merit in recognition of their logical precision and dedication to the subject.

The Department of Youth Affairs expressed its profound appreciation to the participating students, their respective institutions, and the supporting partners who contributed to the seamless execution of this initiative. By providing a platform where "will meets logic," the Department reiterates its commitment to nurturing the intellectual capital of Arunachal Pradesh and creating more such avenues for academic excellence in the future.
