Pasighat, Mar 26: Jawaharlal Nehru College, Pasighat organized a one-day Entrepreneurship Development Programme titled “Sustainable Business Plan Competition 2026” on Thursday. The programme was conducted through the Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC) in collaboration with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC).
The event witnessed active participation from heads of departments across various disciplines, including Botany, Hindi, Education, Chemistry, Geography, and Economics, reflecting strong academic engagement in promoting entrepreneurship.
The programme featured Dr Rajen Miwu, Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Commerce at Arunachal Pradesh University, as the resource person. In his address, he emphasized that today’s youth should strive to become job creators by utilizing local resources and adopting sustainable business models.
The event was conducted under the guidance of Principal Dr Gindu Borang and Vice Principal Dr Leki Sitang, whose support and leadership were instrumental in its successful organization.
Addressing the gathering, coordinator Nang Rasami Thamoung highlighted that the initiative aims to nurture an entrepreneurial mindset among students by providing practical exposure to business planning and encouraging innovation. She noted that such programmes help build confidence, communication skills, and readiness to face real-world market challenges.
Speakers including Dr Tatum Mibang and Nong Tayeng underscored the importance of entrepreneurship education in bridging the gap between classroom learning and real-world application. IQAC Coordinator Dr D P Panda appreciated the initiative, stating that such platforms are vital for fostering creativity, innovation, and self-reliance among students.
The programme concluded successfully with enthusiastic participation and positive feedback, reinforcing the significance of entrepreneurship education in shaping future careers.
