Itanagar, Apr 2: Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Thursday chaired the 5th Governing Body meeting of the Arunachal State Rural Livelihoods Mission (ArSRLM), underscoring the critical role of women empowerment in strengthening rural communities and the state’s overall development.
Highlighting the impact of the mission, Khandu said that empowering women leads to stronger families, which in turn contribute to stronger villages and a more resilient state. He described ArSRLM as a key initiative in building a self-reliant and confident Arunachal Pradesh.
Outlining future priorities, the Chief Minister emphasised the need to improve market linkages for Self-Help Group (SHG) products, promote digital and financial literacy, and encourage youth to take up rural entrepreneurship.
He also stressed strengthening value chains in agriculture, horticulture, and forest produce to enhance income generation and sustainable livelihoods across rural areas.
Khandu called for continued collective efforts and commitment to ensure inclusive growth and long-term socio-economic development in the state.
