Ensure strategic positioning of necessary manpower and resources during monsoon, U/Subansiri DC asks officials

DAPORIJO, Apr 2: A monsoon preparedness meeting was convened at the conference hall of the Secretariat, Daporijo under the chairmanship of Upper Subansiri Deputy Commissioner-cum-Chairperson District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) Tasso Gambo.

The meeting was attended by the Co-Chairperson DDMA and ZPC Jyoti Sikhom, Superintendent of Police Pawan Yadav, Additional Deputy Commissioner cum chief executive member DDMA Biaro Sorum along with all administrative officers and HoOs.

During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on preparedness measures to be undertaken by various departments in anticipation of the ensuing monsoon season. All departments were directed to clearly define and adhere to their roles and responsibilities in disaster management, and to ensure preparedness for any eventuality.

Speaking at the meeting, the DC stressed the importance of inter-departmental coordination, timely response, and proactive measures to minimize risks and safeguard life and property. All concerned officials were instructed to remain on alert and ensure that necessary manpower and resources are strategically positioned during the monsoon period.

Further, the DC directed all outpost admin officers and HoDs to remain in station with immediate effect, and said, except emergency purpose they may leave the station after proper intimation and leave permission.

DDMO R Marbom through a PPT presentation regarding monsoon preparedness and disaster management plan by the district said that rampant earth & tree cutting be checked to avoid manmade or artificial disaster. 

Essential commodities including LPG & fuels supply and stocks were also taken review of. (DIPRO)
