ITANAGAR, Apr 3: Aimed at strengthening power supply and distribution at Jollang village under Pijerang circle in Pakke Kessang district, Health & Family Welfare and Water Resources Minister Biyuram Wahge today inaugurated the much awaited project ‘Extension of 11 kV line including distribution transformer from Sede to Jollang’.
After a prolonged struggle, the village has finally received electricity, marking a significant step forward for the region. In the coming days, this network will extend further from Jollang village to Nangnyo, Palin and nearby villages, ensuring wider access to a reliable power supply, stated the Minister.
Recalling earlier attempts to electrify these villages through the Palin micro hydel project which remained unsuccessful, he expressed his dissatisfaction over the outcome of the project.
Emphasizing on the importance of proper implementation of developmental projects in the district, Wahge called upon concerned departments, contractors and local residents as well to take equal responsibility in ensuring that the infrastructure created for public benefit is maintained effectively.
With electricity now reaching these remaining pockets of the district, the region is expected to witness faster development in near future, the Minister said, adding, this improved access to electricity will also enhance the living standard of the people and further mitigate the need for residents to migrate to towns in search of basic amenities.
