ITANAGAR, Apr 3: In a significant achievement, Arunachal Pradesh clinched the 5th position in the overall ranking at the inaugural Khelo India Tribal Games 2026 in Chhattisgarh with a tally of 11 medals, comprising 6 gold, 1 silver and 4 bronze, besides securing the top spot in the Northeast.
Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein, in this go, has commended the State team for its superb showing at the KITG 2026.
Mein, in his post on X, said: “Heartiest congratulations to our exceptional athletes from Arunachal Pradesh for their outstanding performance at the Khelo India Tribal Games 2026.”
Securing the 5th position at the national level and emerging as the top performing state in the North East is a remarkable achievement, said the Dy CM, adding “This success reflects the dedication, discipline, and indomitable spirit of our young sportspersons, as well as the rich sporting culture of our State.”
He further said: “You have set a new benchmark and inspired a generation to dream bigger and strive harder. My best wishes to all our athletes for continued success in the years ahead.”
