BJP a movement driven by development, good governance: Khandu

Itanagar, Apr 6: Senior BJP leader and Chief Minister Pema Khandu stated that the Bharatiya Janata Party is not merely a political organisation but a movement founded on the ideals of development, good governance, and citizen empowerment.

Speaking at the BJP Foundation Day celebration held at the district BJP office in Namsai, Khandu said the occasion marks the celebration of an ideology that places the nation above all else. He expressed gratitude to party workers whose dedication and sacrifices have contributed to the growth of the party over the years.

Extending his greetings on BJP Sthapna Diwas, the Chief Minister highlighted the party’s journey from humble beginnings to becoming a key pillar in India’s democratic framework. He reiterated that the BJP stands for “Nation First”, good governance, and cultural pride, and called for continued commitment towards building a stronger and self-reliant India.

Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein also attended the celebration, marking 47 years of the party’s journey dedicated to service, inclusive development, and national interest. He noted that under the leadership of leaders like Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Lal Krishna Advani, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the party has grown into the world’s largest democratic political movement.

Mein highlighted several landmark reforms and initiatives, including the Goods and Services Tax (GST), Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, Digital India, and Unified Payments Interface, which have significantly transformed India’s economic and digital landscape. He also mentioned welfare schemes such as Ayushman Bharat, Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, and Swachh Bharat Mission that have improved the lives of millions.

Highlighting regional development, Mein said the Northeast has witnessed unprecedented progress in connectivity and infrastructure, strengthening its role as India’s gateway to Southeast Asia under the Act East Policy.

The programme was attended by MLAs Chau Zingnu Namchoom, Mopi Mihu, former MLA Jummum Ete Deori, along with party leaders and karyakartas. Leaders on the occasion paid tribute to party workers and reaffirmed their commitment to building a developed India through unity, service, and dedication.

ITANAGAR: With the BJP, Arunachal Pradesh celebrating its 47th Sthapna Diwas (Foundation Day) with great enthusiasm and fervour across the State, the celebration at the State party headquarters here was held in presence of RD & PR Minister Ojing Tasing, MLAs, former State president Tai Tagak, senior leaders, State office bearers, and dedicated karyakartas, among others.

The party flag was ceremoniously hoisted by State president Kaling Moyong. The event also witnessed the felicitation of senior BJP karyakartas who have rendered commendable service to the party over the years.

Addressing the gathering, Moyong called upon the karyakartas to continue working with dedication and unity towards strengthening the party. He emphasized that from ideological clarity to decisive leadership, the Bharatiya Janata Party stands as a strong pillar of good governance, nationalism, and inclusive development. He further stated that driven by the unwavering commitment of its karyakartas, the party continues to lead the journey towards building a Viksit Bharat.

Reaffirming the party’s commitment, he noted that the resolve to serve the nation and uphold its ideals remains stronger than ever.

Tai Tagak, former Advisor to the Chief Minister, also addressed the gathering. He highlighted the organisational strength of the BJP and underscored its pivotal role in nation building, along with the trust and confidence it enjoys among the people. He also highlighted the journey of the party from Jan Sangh to BJP formation on 6th April, 1980 to the world’s largest party.

Senior karyakartas and veteran members were felicitated during the programme in recognition of their invaluable contributions and dedicated service to the party.

As part of the celebrations, the BJYM State Unit organized a free tea distribution programme themed ‘BJP Chai, Bharosa ka Chai’ outside V2 near Zero Point Tinali, Itanagar, which witnessed enthusiastic public participation.
