JNC Pasighat hosts workshop on indigenous craft beading

Pasighat, Apr 8: The Department of Economics at Jawaharlal Nehru College Pasighat, in collaboration with its Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), organized a one-day workshop on Indigenous Craft Beading, aimed at promoting skill development and entrepreneurship among students.

Speaking on the occasion, Assistant Professor Oman Taloh highlighted the growing importance of skill-based learning in today’s competitive environment. She noted that with limited opportunities in government jobs, acquiring practical skills is essential for enhancing career prospects and ensuring employability.

The workshop featured Ninna Lego, founder of House of Macnok, who shared her entrepreneurial journey of transforming a small MBA project into a successful venture. She emphasized the importance of entrepreneurship and explained how her enterprise is working towards promoting sustainable craft practices while preserving indigenous knowledge.

The programme, attended by around 30 students, was coordinated by Apilang Apum and Oman Taloh. Participants were provided hands-on training in indigenous craft techniques, encouraging them to explore skill development as a pathway to self-reliance and innovation.
