Two-day lecture series on governance underway at RGU

RONO HILLS, Apr 9: The Department of Political Science, Rajiv Gandhi University has commenced a two-day special lecture series on public policy, governance, and administrative reforms from April 9 to 10.

The lecture series is being led by Pramod Jain, IAS (Retd), Professor of Practice at RGU and Chairman of the Arunachal Administrative Reforms Commission, who is serving as the resource person.

At the inaugural session, Head of the Department Prof Tabang Mibang welcomed the participants and highlighted the significance of the expert’s extensive administrative experience in enriching discussions on governance and public administration.

Delivering the keynote lecture, Jain emphasized the role of government institutions as key instruments in exercising the sovereign power of the state. He stressed that public policies must ultimately aim at development, nation-building, and public welfare.

Underscoring the importance of good governance, he noted that adherence to the rule of law is fundamental to effective policy-making and administration.

The session concluded with an interactive discussion involving research scholars, postgraduate students, and faculty members from various departments of the university.

The second day of the lecture series will focus on administrative reforms.
