APCC chief condoles demise of Ex-Chief Engineer Ogam Apum

Itanagar, Apr 9: Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president Bosiram Siram has expressed deep condolence on the demise of Er (Retd) Ogam Apum, first Chief Engineer (Power), describing him as a pioneer and guiding force of the state.

Born on May 21, 1943, in Balek village, Late Apum was the first Electrical Engineering graduate from a tribal community of Arunachal Pradesh. He went on to become the state’s first Chief Engineer (Power) and also the first Arunachalee graduate engineer to serve in NEEPCO, contributing significantly to the development of the power sector.

Remembering his legacy, Siram said that Late Apum’s life symbolised dedication, resilience, and service to society. “We have lost not only an accomplished engineer and administrator but also a respected elder and mentor. His contributions and values will continue to inspire generations,” he stated.

Siram conveyed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for strength and solace in this hour of grief.
