Itanagar, Apr 10: The Arunachal Pradesh Women’s Welfare Society (APWWS) has expressed deep shock and anguish over the recent brutal murder of junior teacher Yapi Potom, terming the incident a grave loss to her family and society.
Condemning the heinous act, the organisation called upon the State Government and law enforcement agencies to ensure a swift, transparent and thorough investigation. It demanded that the perpetrator be brought to justice at the earliest, with strict punishment in accordance with the law.
APWWS said the incident highlights the persistent threats faced by women and stressed that such crimes must not be tolerated under any circumstances.
The organisation also drew attention to the plight of the two minor children left behind by the deceased, stating that their future has been rendered uncertain. It appealed to the government to provide comprehensive support, including financial assistance, educational security and psychological care.
Expressing solidarity with the bereaved family, APWWS urged civil society, organisations and citizens to come together to demand justice and extend support to the affected children.
