Daporijo, Apr 10: The second edition of the Dukam Inter-Village T20 Cricket Tournament commenced today at the Daporijo Higher Secondary School ground, witnessing enthusiastic participation from local communities.
A total of 11 teams representing various villages from the Dukam area are competing in the tournament, which aims to foster unity, integrity, and brotherhood among the people.
The inaugural ceremony was attended by several dignitaries from the Tagin community, including Rolen Dagam, Chairman of Arunachal Pradesh Building and Other Construction Workers' Welfare Board; Larji Rigia, president of Tagin Cultural Society, along with senior members of the Dukam Welfare Society.
Addressing the gathering, Rolen Dagam encouraged the players to uphold the true spirit of sportsmanship. He emphasized that sports and games not only promote physical fitness but also help in developing a disciplined lifestyle and a sound mind among the youth.
The organizers reiterated that the primary objective of the tournament is to strengthen communal harmony and bring together people from different villages through sports.
