PPA celebrates 49th Foundation Day

Itanagar, Apr 10: The People’s Party of Arunachal (PPA) celebrated its 49th Foundation Day in Itanagar on Friday with participation from party leaders, legislators, and members from across the state.

Addressing the gathering, party president and MLA Nabam Vivek described the occasion as a significant milestone and expressed gratitude to the people of Arunachal Pradesh for their continued support. He said the party has emerged as a strong political force in the state and emphasised the need for collective efforts to further strengthen its presence.

Calling for renewed commitment, he urged party leaders and workers to focus on grassroots-level strengthening through the expansion of organisational structure across districts. He stressed that all elected representatives must discharge their responsibilities diligently to ensure inclusive development.

The PPA president also underscored the importance of protecting the identity, traditions, and rights of the people of the state, adding that unity and dedication remain the party’s core strengths.

He further called for greater emphasis on women empowerment, urging the party to encourage more women to participate in Panchayat, Municipal, Assembly, and Parliamentary elections.

Other speakers, including PPA Legislature Party leader Oken Tayeng, MLAs Pesi Jilen and Tapi Darang, CWC chairman Kamen Ringu, and chief adviser and former Minister Kahfa Bengia also addressed the gathering, highlighting key organisational and regional issues.

Discussions during the programme included preparations for the party’s golden jubilee celebration in 2027, strengthening regional unity under a “One Northeast” approach, and issues such as the Dollungmukh bombing range and the realignment of the Frontier Highway.
