ITANAGAR, Apr 11: The Department of Hindi of Dera Natung Government College (DNGC) organised a theatrical performance featuring two iconic Hindi plays—"Andher Nagri" by Bhartendu Harishchandra and "Dhruvswamini" by Jaishankar Prasad—at the college’s Jubilee Hall.
The plays were staged by BA IVth semester students and witnessed enthusiastic participation, drawing an audience of nearly 400 students and faculty members. The performances showcased the students’ creativity, dedication, and understanding of classical Hindi literature, earning appreciation from the audience.
The programme was attended by subject experts, including Dr Techi Upen Tara, Vice Principal of Neelam Taram Government College, Yachuli, and Dr Abhishek Kumar Yadav, Associate Professor, Department of Hindi, Rajiv Gandhi University. They shared insights on the thematic depth, dramatic structure, and contemporary relevance of the plays, and commended the students for their efforts.
DNGC Principal Dr M Q Khan appreciated the initiative of the Hindi Department and lauded the students for their performances, highlighting the importance of such activities in promoting literary and cultural awareness.
The programme was coordinated by Dr Mema Chiri, ensuring its smooth execution.
