9th Convocation Ceremony: Apex Professional University reaffirms its commitment to excellence in higher education

PASIGHAT, Apr 11: Apex Professional University, Pasighat successfully held its 9th Convocation Ceremony at its campus here today, with a significant milestone in celebrating the academic achievements of graduating students across diverse disciplines and reaffirmed the University’s commitment to excellence in higher education.

The event was graced by Dhanpreet Singh Matharoo, Pro-Chancellor Apex Professional University as chief guest, and local MLA Ninong Ering as guest of honour.

The programme commenced with a formal academic procession, followed by the university anthem and traditional lighting of ceremonial lamp.

In his convocation-cum-presidential address, the Pro-VC stressed the need for multidisciplinary education, innovation, and alignment with the National Education Policy 2020, highlighting the university’s vision of becoming a Multidisciplinary Education and Research University (MERU). Referring to the evolving AI-driven world, he stressed the importance of critical thinking over rote learning and, quoting A P J Abdul Kalam, urged students to dream big and contribute meaningfully to society.

Addressing the gathering, the MLA emphasized on leadership, public service, and youth empowerment, encouraging graduates to contribute meaningfully to society and nation building.

During the ceremony, degrees were conferred upon students from various faculties, including Law & Forensic Sciences, Education & Information Sciences, Pharmaceutical Sciences, and the Institute of Research & Innovation. Doctoral degrees were also awarded to research scholars. Gold Medals and Certificates of Merit were presented to outstanding students for their academic excellence.

The ceremony also featured the traditional exhortation, wherein graduates pledged to uphold truth, morality, and professional ethics in their future endeavours.

Earlier, Apex Professional University Vice Chancellor Prof Naseer Ahmad Khan presented the university annual report for the academic year 2024–25. He highlighted the University’s academic progress, research initiatives, and future development plans aimed at strengthening its position as a centre of excellence. (DIPRO)
