Capital Police appeals for peace, vows justice in Yapi Potom murder case

Itanagar, Apr 12: The Itanagar Capital Police has appealed for peace and restraint while assuring swift and firm legal action in connection with the Yapi Potom murder case.

Expressing deep condolences, the police extended sympathies to the bereaved family, friends and all those affected by the tragic incident, stating that they stand in solidarity with all those mourning this irreparable loss.

The accused Daksen Riram, a resident of Essichiku village under Basar police station in Leparada district, was arrested within hours of the incident and is currently in judicial custody.

Police informed that the investigation was expedited from the outset and is now nearing completion. The case has been handled by a dedicated team, with crucial evidence secured through prompt and scientific investigation.

The police further stated that the chargesheet will be filed within the stipulated timeframe and assured that the case will be pursued strongly to ensure maximum punishment as per law.

At the same time, Capital Police urged citizens to maintain calm and not take the law into their own hands.

“Please maintain peace, show restraint, and allow justice to take its lawful course,” the statement said.
