CM, Dy CM extend Sangken greetings

Itanagar, Apr 14: Chief Minister Pema Khandu and Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein today extended warm greetings to the people of the state on the auspicious occasion of Sangken.

In his message, the Chief Minister conveyed his heartfelt wishes, stating that Sangken is a time to forgive, reconnect, and celebrate shared values of unity, respect, and brotherhood. He said the festival brings communities together in a spirit of joy and strengthens the bonds that define the state's rich cultural heritage.

He also joined the Tai Khamti and Singpho communities in praying for peace, happiness, and prosperity for all, expressing hope that the festival would inspire people to walk the path of compassion, righteousness, and harmony.

Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein, in his message, described Sangken as a sacred festival symbolising renewal, purification, and the triumph of positivity. He noted that the traditional sprinkling of water reflects the collective hope to wash away negativity and welcome peace, harmony, and prosperity.

He further said that the festival is a reminder of the rich cultural heritage and enduring values of compassion, unity, and togetherness that bind communities. Wishing happiness to every home, he expressed hope that the festival would strengthen the spirit of brotherhood and usher in a year filled with peace and progress.
