MALIGAON, Apr 16: The 135th Birth Anniversary of Bharat Ratna Dr Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar was observed on Thursday at Dr Bhupen Hazarika Sabha Griha in N F Railway headquarters complex here.
Chetan Kumar Shrivastava, General Manager N F Railway, and other officials paid homage by lighting the lamp and offering floral tribute to the portrait of Dr Ambedkar, well known as Father of the Indian Constitution. The officers, staff of NFR headquarters and representatives of various Associations and Unions were also present on the occasion.
A parallel programme was organized by the NFR Construction Organisation at the Concourse Hall of the newly constructed General Manager (Construction) office building in Maligaon. The ceremony included floral tributes, readings on the life and contributions of Dr Ambedkar and reflections on his lifelong commitment to social justice and equality.
Speaking on this occasion, GM Shrivastava shed light on Dr Ambedkar’s contribution towards framing of our Constitution, providing justice & equality to all classes of the society. He also praised the role of Dr Ambedkar in women empowerment and development of under-privileged section of the society. His whole life is an inspiration for all classes of the society, the GM said.
