Kesi Tali village gets identity boost with welcome gate inauguration

Kamba, Apr 16: Kesi Tali village under Kamba circle in West Siang district marked a significant milestone with the inauguration of its newly constructed welcome gate on Tuesday, in a ceremony filled with enthusiasm and strong community participation.

The gate was formally inaugurated by Liromoba MLA Pesi Jilen, in the presence of IPR Director Gijum Rakmuk, Kamba ADC Tamo Riba, local ZPM Kaba Rakmuk, along with other dignitaries, public leaders, and villagers.

Addressing the gathering, the MLA stated that the welcome gate has been constructed to provide a distinct identity to Kesi Tali village. He described the initiative as an important step towards preserving the village’s heritage and historical significance, noting that it is regarded as the origin of the Ragmuk and Rakyom clans. He emphasized the importance of protecting such cultural roots for future generations.

During the programme, villagers submitted a memorandum seeking financial assistance for the development of a common burial ground. Acknowledging the demand, the MLA assured that necessary funds would be provided for the project.

The event was organised under the leadership of organising chairman Baluk Rakmuk, secretary Bomjum Rakmuk, and overall in-charge Bompok Rakmuk, whose coordinated efforts ensured the smooth conduct of the programme. In his concluding remarks, the MLA expressed gratitude to the organisers and villagers for hosting a meaningful event that reflects unity, cultural pride, and a shared vision for development.
