ITANAGAR, Apr 17: The Arunachal Civil Society (ACS) has announced a foot march rally on April 20, demanding a free and fair CBI inquiry into an alleged corruption case involving Chief Minister Pema Khandu.

Addressing reporters at the Arunachal Press Club here, ACS chairman Byabang Joram on Friday said that a representation was submitted to the Governor on April 9, seeking intervention following a recent Supreme Court direction to examine allegations related to award of contract works.

Joram alleged that contracts worth Rs 1,270 crore were awarded to firms linked to the Chief Minister’s family between January 2015 and December 2025.

The rally is scheduled to proceed from Akashdeep to the Tennis Court at IG Park, Itanagar.

The organisation stated that the protest aims to ensure transparency and accountability in governance and urged the Chief Minister to step down to facilitate what it described as an impartial investigation.

ACS has also appealed to the public to participate in the march in support of its demand.
