Census publicity materials launched in Upper Subansiri

DAPORIJO, Apr 17: Census publicity materials, including flexible banners, T-shirts and caps, were formally launched in Upper Subansiri district by Deputy Commissioner Tasso Gambo at the DC’s Secretariat here on Friday.

On the occasion, Assistant Director of Economics & Statistics Tanium Dagiam briefed officials on the phased implementation of the Census programme and its standard operating procedures. He informed that block-level training for census officials, enumerators and supervisors is currently underway across administrative centres in the district and is nearing completion.

Launching the materials, DC Gambo stressed the importance of smooth and error-free conduct of the census process. He directed all designated officers to discharge their duties with sincerity and dedication to ensure timely completion of the national exercise. He also appealed to the residents of the district to cooperate with census officials and provide accurate information for effective implementation of the exercise.

Highlighting the significance of the census, Gambo said it serves as a crucial tool for planning and policy-making, providing baseline data on population, economy and development indicators.

Among others present at the programme were Assistant Commissioner (HQ) Goju Sikom, DDMO Ronya Marbom, DIPRO Taw Ekke, DLR&SO Tana Totu and other officials. (DIPRO)
