Doimukh, Apr 18: The 1 AP Bn NCC successfully concluded the Inter Battalion Thal Sena Camp (TSC) for Tezpur Group at Rajiv Gandhi University, Doimukh, on Saturday, marking the culmination of an intensive week-long training programme for NCC cadets.
Held from April 11 to 18, the camp witnessed enthusiastic participation from cadets representing units from Arunachal Pradesh and Assam. The programme formed part of the multi-level selection process for the prestigious Thal Sena Camp, one of the most significant annual training camps conducted by the National Cadet Corps.
During the camp, cadets underwent a rigorous screening process involving a series of structured and competitive activities such as Obstacle Training, Judging Distance and Field Signals, Map Reading, Tent Pitching, and sessions on health and hygiene. These exercises were aimed at enhancing tactical and technical skills while fostering confidence, coordination, and a spirit of healthy competition.
Both individual and team-based events were conducted, testing the cadets’ endurance, agility, mental resilience, and situational awareness. Participants demonstrated determination and teamwork, completing tasks within stipulated timelines, with performance assessed on parameters such as speed, accuracy, and coordination.
A key highlight of the camp was an outreach initiative where cadets interacted with school children, demonstrating basic drill techniques and sharing insights on defence-related activities. The interaction helped inspire young minds and raise awareness about the role of the NCC in nation-building.
The camp concluded on a successful note, providing cadets with a comprehensive platform to develop discipline, leadership qualities, confidence, and camaraderie, while preparing them for higher-level competitions.
