Sagalee, Apr 18: An SHG Market Shed Outlet supported by former MLA Nabam Tuki under the MLALAD Fund was inaugurated and formally handed over to a management committee of Self-Help Group members at Nimte on Saturday.
The market shed has been established to provide a dedicated platform for marketing products from Producer Groups (PGs), PMFME beneficiaries, VDVKs, and other SHGs. It is expected to benefit over 200 SHG members from five Gram Panchayats under Sagalee Circle. The facility will be managed by a committee comprising representatives from all five Gram Panchayats.
Addressing the gathering, ZPM of the 7th Sagalee Zilla segment, Teli Tatum Camdir lauded the progress of SHG members and the efforts of BMMU Sagalee under the Arunachal State Rural Livelihoods Mission. He also assured support for additional infrastructure, including construction of two bathroom units, electrification, and water connectivity for the shed.
Taw Ama Nabam, in her address, assured provision of a public address system for the PLF office. Meanwhile, Er Taba John from APEDA announced financial assistance of Rs 50,000 as revolving fund support for the SHG Federation.
The SHG Market Shed at Nimte will remain open daily, offering organic vegetables and handicraft products at reasonable prices, thereby strengthening local entrepreneurship and rural livelihoods.
