CHANGLANG, Apr 18: With a CAG observation surfacing on loss of revenue vis-à-vis Namchik/Nampuk Coal Field in Changlang district of the State, the Committee on Public Undertakings (COPU) of the Eighth Legislative Assembly, headed by Chairman Jikke Tako, undertook a spot visit to take stock of mining operations and the subsequent ‘loss’ issue as well.
The COPU Chairman, accompanied by Chakat Aboh (Member), and K Jugli, Jt Secretary State Legislative Assembly along with officers/officials, conducted a spot visit to the Namchik/Nampuk Coal Field on Saturday in connection with a CAG audit para relating to loss of revenue, according to a communiqué from the Speaker’s PR Cell.
The Committee reviewed the status of mining operations and sought clarifications on the “issues” raised in the CAG audit para. The technical officers assured the Committee that a detailed reply would be submitted to the Secretary State Legislative Assembly within six months.
The Chairman, while emphasizing the importance of timely submission of the required information, directed that the matter be taken up for further review in a subsequent sitting of the Committee.
Changlang Deputy Commissioner Vishal Sah, along with the ADC Miao, SDO Kharsang, Assistant Commissioner Miao, technical officers from the Department of Mines & Mineral Development; and representatives of M/s Coal Pulz Ltd, was also present at the spot visit.
