Census 2027: 3-day training for enumerators & supervisors begins in P/Pare

YUPIA, Apr 20: A three-day training programme for enumerators and supervisors for Census 2027 commenced today in Papum Pare district.

The training is being conducted in a decentralized manner across sub-divisional headquarters at Balijan, Doimukh and Sagalee.

In Balijan, the training covers participants from Balijan and Sangdupota circles. At Doimukh, sessions are being held for both urban and rural charges, while in Sagalee, participants from Sagalee urban and rural areas as well as Toru circle are attending.

The training sessions are being conducted by field trainers Piel Pradeep and Rahul Nabam Hina at Balijan, Chera Johan and Kara Jirdum at Doimukh, and Kara Chulley and Tana Tani at Sagalee, who are imparting essential guidelines and procedures to the participants.

A total of 29, 32, and 50 enumerators and supervisors are participating in the training at Balijan, Doimukh, and Sagalee respectively.

The second batch of training will commence on 23rd April at Sagalee, Balijan, and Kimin, while door-to-door enumeration is scheduled to begin from 1st May, 2026.

Being the first digital census in the history of the country, Census 2027 is expected to ensure more accurate data collection and timely dissemination of information, which will play a crucial role in enabling people-centric planning by the government.

In the meantime, the ADES-cum-Additional District Census Officer, Papum Pare, has urged residents of the district to cooperate with census officials during their visits. (DIPRO)
