Itanagar, Apr 21: Arunachal University of Studies (AUS) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the 186 Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) in Namsai to introduce the “Rashtra Rakshak Amarveer Jaswant Singh Rawat and Shaheed Subedar Joginder Singh Samman Scholarship.”
The initiative aims to provide tuition fee support and promote access to quality higher education for the children of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) personnel, while paying tribute to the sacrifices of the nation’s brave martyrs.
Under the MoU, AUS will offer scholarships ranging from 25% to 50% of tuition fees to dependent wards of serving and retired CAPF personnel. An additional 10% scholarship will be extended to the wards of martyred personnel.
Vice Chancellor Prof Ajay Jha said the university is honoured to partner with the CRPF 186 Battalion in the initiative, describing it as a meaningful step towards supporting the families of security personnel through education.
Commandant Dharmendra Kumar Singh of the CRP's 186 Battalion stated that the MoU serves as a tribute to the supreme sacrifices of martyrs and reflects a commitment to ensuring quality educational opportunities for children of CAPF families.
The collaboration marks a significant step in strengthening institutional support for the families of India’s security forces through targeted educational initiatives.
